28.01.2025 | Gravitate Health: Empowering Europeans with Digital Innovations for Personalized Health Management & Cross-Border Care
The project, having reached a high level of maturity, took this opportunity to demonstrate technical developments and the Gravitate Health app in order to get ADHW’s attendees to test it and give their feedback, according to Lina Nikolopoulou’s introduction to the session.
Lene Lunde shared insights on Gravitate Health’s technical development, testing scenarios, and cross-border potential. “Our user engagement initiatives are central to crafting solutions that empower patients globally”, she added. Attendees at ADHW2025 had the opportunity to try the G-lens app with a fictional user and provide valuable feedback through the online questionnaire made available via a QR code. Their expertise will help us refine personalized healthcare experiences and advance patient-centric cross-border care.
Petra Wilson gave an informative speech on the context of the evolving European landscape and the EHDS Regulation and Gravitate Health’s place within this framework.
Gravitate Health’s and EU health legislation’s goal is to promote safe healthcare. It is of interest to the project that Electronic Product Information (ePI) is not regulated at present under EU legislation. The Directive on the Community legislation relating to medicinal products for human use is currently being updated to include the use of ePI and Electronic Patient Leaflets.
EHDS -Petra said- is a great enabler on what we are trying to do at Gravitate Health. Two additional points that stood out:
- EDHS does not exist in a vacuum, it needs to comply with the rest of European Regulations.
- EHDS is implemented to open up data – contrary to the GDPR, which “closed” data.
Lastly, Marianna Imenokhoeva & Francisco Mejia described the Interoperability Showcase to be held at HIMSS 2025 European Conference, on 10-12 June 2025, in Paris, where real-world case studies will be presented —with Gravitate Health being one of them. Some of the topics that will be explored at the HIMSS25 conference are EHDS, AI, healthcare workforce, digital maturity.

About the EHDS Experimentation Lab
The EHDS Experimentation Lab is a set of interactive sessions within ADHW2025 aiming to educate and inform stakeholders about current work, initiatives and work related to the developments in support of the EHDS regulation. The Lab intends to trigger the interest of technical personnel, technical decision makers, product owners, academic research, Healthcare Provider CIOs, Chief Medical Information Officers and other executives, programmers and information architects.
The Lab will focus on use cases that will embrace the use of EEHRxF & enforce the implementation of the EHDS regulation. Testing tools will be incorporated into practice with currently available specifications under development; a technical help desk will be available to assist vendors and participants to understand the specifications; hackathons and other hands-on sessions on specific use cases will unfold, and more. The EHDS Experimentation Lab is also supported by Xt-EHR project, IHE, and others.
