Carrie Peterson is a gerontologist specializing in innovation and gerontechnology solutions for aged and dementia care. She has a background in psychology and social services, her MSc in Gerontology and PhD in Electronic systems, where her research involved smart home technologies for dementia care and the quality of life outcomes for people living with dementia and their families.
In addition to gerontology and dementia research, Carrie has experience in long-term and respite care, hospice, digital health service development and evaluation, health literacy, ethics, and public health. She has collaborated with private families, care facilities, research institutions, companies, public health, and social care services, and has worked with international health politics through WHO and the European Commission.
Her main reason for participating in the Gravitate Health project User Advisory Group is to further health literacy and digital health solutions which can support the health and life quality of individuals. She is honored and excited to be part of this group with such diverse expertise and lived experiences of health conditions and anticipates that empowering individuals in their personal health and well-being will bring further benefits to public health.
