Gravitate Health: A Digital Health Transformation Journey
The Gravitate Health digital platform uses trusted information in a focused way―via the G-lens® services―from electronic product information (ePI, i.e. medicinal product leaflet in an electronic format) and a subset of data in the International Patient Summary. The platform presents users only with information that is relevant to them, based on their conditions and preferences. Additional trusted materials can be incorporated for safety and to enhance understanding. The G-lens® services consider your medication.
The goal is to transform the current ePI into understandable, manageable, and useful digital assets with HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) as the underlying standard.

Our Approach to address the problem
We use HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to transform the current PDFs of medication leaflets into HL7 FHIR assets. This enables us to fill these resources with details about the medication and the information provided in the leaflet. Then, we tag the narrative text to annotate data in a way that makes sense for the final step: focusing.
Focusing is all about personalizing the information for each person. Once we have organized and labeled content, we gather information from the patient, like the International Patient Summary (IPS), to understand what needs personalizing. This can mean highlighting important information or minimizing less relevant details.
Additionally, we can include extra support materials like educational videos or images. We can also provide translations into plain language or summaries to help patients understand better.

Case Studies
For real-world examples, our solution allows for tailored information based on individual needs. For instance, a pregnant woman would receive highlighted pregnancy-related sections and other pertinent details for a specific medication. Additionally, technical sections can be translated for better comprehension. Another example is catering to individuals with low literacy by translating most of the leaflet into simpler language. Lastly, for someone with lactose allergy, the excipients section is highlighted to provide crucial warnings.
