João Almeida is Chair and Tech lead at HL7 Portugal. He is an IT Pharmacist with 10-year experience with digital health; an invited professor of medical informatics, artificial intelligence and interoperability at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (FMUP) and responsible for eHealth Standards subject in the medical informatics course at the FMUP.

Joao is also Vice-president of e-MAIS (EFMI Portuguese affiliate); IHE pharmacy member; Researcher at CINTESIS; PhD student at the FMUP, and Digital Health Consultant. Some relevant recent projects he has been working on are IHE profiles, Portuguese IGs, Erasmus+ Classes, AI4Health.

The Product Owner role he recently assumed at Gravitate Health is crucial in defining the product vision, while overseeing and supporting the technical developments and integrating all work packages in order to create an impactful, accessible, and secure eHealth application that resonates in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.

Joao is also a member of WP3, WP4 & WP5
