Medicin.dk is the Danish provider of scientific, structured, and always updated pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals and the public. With more than 100 mill. pageviews a year Medicin.dk is the number one source supplying medicinal information in Denmark – for both healthcare professionals and patients.
UCD will be active in disseminating KPIs developed in Task 1.4, and will be active in WP4, and WP6 as the lead for the work in one of the testing scenarios on young people with complex needs.
Our contribution to the project
Prof Maria Brenner, Professor of Children’s Nursing is experienced in leading large multidisciplinary teams. This includes a current 5-year project funded by the European Research Council to explore the initiation of technology dependence in children with complex care needs (TechChild). She previously led the development of the first standards of care for children with complex care needs in Europe as part of the Models of Child Health Appraised (MOCHA) project, funded by the EU Commission Horizon 2020.
Medicin.dk delivers pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals and the public in Denmark through a range of platforms and channels, of which one is ePILs at “indlægsssedler.dk”. The ePIL at indlægssedler.dk was first published in 2016. The information from Medicin.dk is available as free of charge websites, and as an integrated part of IT-systems at all hospitals, GPs, municipalities etc. in Denmark.
The information in the database is strictly structured and thus easy to integrate with other systems. Medicin.dk has a long standing and close cooperation with the Danish Medicines Agency, as well as other central medical stakeholders in both Denmark and Scandinavia.
To the Gravitate Health project Medicin.dk will bring our experience with content structuring and our role as the provider of electronic package leaflets in Denmark.
We will provide the testing scenarios in the project with updated, quality controlled, electronic package leaflets (ePIL) in the Nordic countries.
Our contribution to the project
Medicin.dk has long term experience working with validation, structure, and digitalization of medicinal information.
With our staff we contribute to the project by the knowledge of our experienced pharmacist, medicinal specialists, and software developers with deep insights in digitalizing healthcare information.
Medicin.dk has recently played a major part in developing Medical Decision Support (FMB) that is now implemented in IT-systems all over the Danish Healthcare system. FMB supports the doctor when prescribing medicine to a patient, by making data in the patient’s medical journal communicate with data about the pharmaceutical in Medicin.dk – and showing alerts in case of a problematic prescription.
